“Clipper Logistics were awarded the NHS PPE contract in March 2020, at the beginning of the Covid-19 lockdown. There were two streams of fulfilment referred to as Retail (Trusts/Hospitals) and eCommerce (Primary and Social Care). The eCommerce channel was a new pull model, in partnership with ebay (and others), which involved a ramp up process through summer 2020 onboarding 60k+ customers. To start with the eCommerce orders were relatively small and consisted of parcel deliveries, though customer order limits were quickly increased post the customer onboarding phase, which moved circa 50% of the product being ordered going out on pallets. EFM were the partner of choice to move the pallet volumes on behalf of Clipper Logistics. At the peak of the pandemic EFM were delivering 4,000+ pallets per week through the eCommerce channel, via the Palletline network. Craig and the team very quickly set up their own onsite support operation to streamline the process, and required two way hub sortation. EFM were instrumental during the pandemic in getting billions of units of PPE out to customers, I personally cannot thank the team enough for their support and hard work.
